Student Life
We defy the expectations for life at a smaller school.
Think it’s boring with “only” 1,400 other students in a town of 25,000? Think again. Our beautiful, tree-lined campus in Seguin, Texas, is right in the middle of everything:
- Hike, camp and explore in the stunning Texas Hill Country.
- Float a tube down the crystal-clear Guadalupe River.
- Shop yourself silly at the San Marcos outlet malls just up the road.
- Chill out at the Schlitterbahn water park in New Braunfels.
- Drive 40 minutes and you’re on San Antonio’s famous Riverwalk.
- Experience the “live music capital of the world,” less than an hour away in Austin.
And on campus?
Our students love their home away from home. Well over half of them live on the TLU campus in one of our seven residence halls or nine university-owned apartments. There’s always something going on:
- Get involved with dozens of student clubs, service organizations, campus ministries or TLU’s eight fraternities and sororities.
- Be part of the action with intramural dodge ball, flag football, bowling, or beach volleyball—on a real sand court.
- Take a dip at the Mabee Aquatic Center.
- Relax before finals at the Spring Fling, with concerts and cookouts around campus.
- Explore Seguin–it’s warm and welcoming, with plenty of places to grab a bite with friends.
- Play 18 holes at the public golf course along the Guadalupe River.
- Or just snooze in the hammocks at the Moline Center.
